San PabloĀ is a station situated on the Manila-Legazpi Line. It serves San Pablo City, Laguna.

History

San Pablo was opened on July 3, 1911 as a station situated on the original route of the Main Line South from Calamba via Malvar, a new cut-off line from the College station in the Santa Cruz-Pagsanjan line was opened on August 20, 1923, since then the original route became the Malvar-San Pablo line. Ā Improvements and the near completion of the Main Line South led to the construcion of a larger station building in 1937 to accomodate the increasing demand of passengers, the station was torn down in 2015 to give way for a new one but it is still not in use as of now.

Informations

  • The first station building has a wooden structure, improvements on the Main Line South led to the construction of a new station building, the old one was converted as a storage for the Luzon Bus Line.
  • The second station building has the same architectural design as Mangaldan.
  • The station was renovated in 2015 with newly built platforms on both sides, some sections of the station building were retained, however, the rubble stone posts at the opposite platform were demolished.
