History

Laon-Laan was opened on January 25, 1978 as part of the Metro Manila Transport Program under Former First Lady Imelda Marcos, it was rehabilitated in 1990 under the Metrotrak project (later renamed to Metrotren).  A new station building and raised platforms were erected as part of the Northrail-Southrail Linkage Project from 2007 to 2009.

Informations

  • Like its original purpose, only commuter services stop at this station.
  • It is commonly known as Dapitan Laon-Laan as the station is sandwiched between Dapitan and Laon-Laan streets.
  • Although platform extension did not commence at Laon-Laon yet, most likely both ends of the current platforms will be extended since there is only sufficient space for one car each.
