Biñan is a station situated on the Manila-Legazpi Line. It serves Biñan City, Laguna.
History
The first train from Paco to Biñan was led by MRR Chief Engineer E.S. Pointkowski ran on August 3, 1908, it was officially opened to the public on on September 2.
A concrete station building was erected in 1941 replacing the wooden structure.
A new station building with raised platform was inaugurated on December 23, 2013.
Informations
- The MRR-era Biñan, Pandacan (demolished) and Pamplona stations, which were all built from 1940-1941, shares the same architectural design.
- Biñan was the terminus of the Metro South Commuter when it was opened in 1970, once again it in 2006 after the San Cristobal bridge was washed out.
- Since the erection of the new platform, the track is sandwiched between the old and the new platforms.
- The new platform was the former siding of the station.
